Frequently asked questions

General

A VPS is a virtual machine whose public address belongs to a hosting provider. A residential RDP is a Windows desktop whose public address is issued by a consumer ISP such as AT&T or Spectrum. The hardware and the operating system can be identical — the difference is what public registries say about the IP address, which changes how a large part of the internet treats your traffic.
Dedicated servers and VPS instances are provisioned automatically and are usually ready within 10 to 30 minutes. Residential RDP and residential proxy orders are checked by a human against current pool availability in your requested city, so they typically take between 30 minutes and 4 hours during business hours.
We do not offer free trials, because residential capacity has a real per-unit cost that cannot be recovered. We do offer a 24-hour replacement window: if the address you receive is already listed on a blocklist relevant to your use case, tell us and we will replace it at no charge.
Visa and Mastercard, PayPal, and major cryptocurrencies. Invoices are issued for annual contracts on request. All prices are quoted in USD; the currency switcher on the pricing page is for convenience and converts at an indicative rate.

RDP & desktops

A standard Windows client licence permits one interactive session at a time, so a second sign-in disconnects the first. For genuine concurrent multi-user access you need either separate desktops or a Windows Server host with Remote Desktop Services licensing, which we can quote for.
In almost every case it is the UDP transport being blocked, which forces all traffic over TCP. Check the connection-quality indicator in the RDP title bar: if it reports TCP only, open UDP on your RDP port. After that, reduce colour depth to 16-bit and disable desktop background and window animations. Our RDP hardening checklist walks through the full tuning process.
Yes. You have administrator access and can install anything that is properly licensed and lawful. We ask that you do not run mining software, mail relays or anything that generates abuse complaints, since that damages the IP address for everyone.

Proxies

Both. ISP (static residential) proxies keep the same address for the life of the subscription. Rotating residential proxies draw from a pool and can be configured to rotate per request or to stay sticky for a defined window, up to 24 hours on the Fios plan.
By the total bytes transferred through the proxy in both directions, measured at the gateway. Blocking images, fonts and stylesheets in your client typically reduces consumption by 50 to 60 percent when you only need the page's HTML.
Country targeting is reliable on every plan. City-level targeting is available on Spectrum, Fios and Comcast plans and is best-effort: IP geolocation databases are inferences rather than ground truth, and they disagree with each other. Expect roughly 80 to 95 percent city accuracy.

Billing & support

If the address arrives already listed, we replace it free of charge. If it becomes blocked later through ordinary use, you get two free replacements per month per subscription; further swaps are billed at the standard replacement rate. Addresses blocked as a result of abuse are not replaced.
Upgrades are applied immediately and prorated against the remaining term. Downgrades take effect at the next renewal so that we are not rebuilding machines mid-cycle.
Dedicated servers and VPS instances carry a 48-hour money-back guarantee if the hardware does not meet the advertised specification. Residential RDP and proxy subscriptions are non-refundable once the address has been allocated, because the capacity is reserved for you — which is why we offer the replacement window instead.
